Media's impact on holidays

The media has turned Christmas into a commercialized holiday.

Christmas doesn’t have the true meaning that it once had. It seems as if the public forgot about the true meaning of Christmas. I think that over years the media has turned not only Christmas but also many other holidays such as Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, and even Presidents Day into a commercialized holiday.

Where is the investiagtive reporting?

The media ought to produce more investigative reporting.

The media isn’t doing much of any investigative reporting, muckraking as I like to call it.

I don’t understand why or even like the fact that it’s not being done. From what I’ve been told by media scholars it's that the media outlets do not let reporters do investigative stories that much anymore because it’s very expensive to do.

According to Mediashift investigative reporting has changed and because it’s being done by newspaper and magazine reporters. Not investigative reporters.

Satire Delivered

Is news satire informational or just for laughs? Or it could be an ingenious plot to get your point across through sarcasm and humor? As I watch Chocolate News, Colbert Report, D.L. Hughley Breaks the News, The Daily Show and The Onion News Network> only one answer can be given: get your point across through sarcasm and humor.

If you look at all the different sources we were given to write this blog all the hosts are of a comedic background.
